About LaDoubleJ

LaDoubleJ is a new-school, multi-tasking Milanese brand that tells stories, takes unforgettable photos, creates new clothing, unearths rare vintage and pulls back the curtain on Italy’s hidden creative talent.  Specializing in content, communications and a cheerful cacophony of rare finds, LaDoubleJ distills its broad activity through one unmistakable lens of exuberant style. With its playful mood, its eye-popping visuals and distinctive products, the brand has swiftly attracted a band of cult followers and fashion insiders on the hunt for something refreshingly special.

In September 2015, LaDoubleJ launched LaDoubleJ Editions, a collection of new clothing made from vintage prints discovered sleeping in the secret archives of Italy’s top textile manufacturers.   The project debuted with 8 historic prints hand-picked from Mantero Seta, a 114 year old silk manufacturer on Lake Como and has blossomed into 25 vintage patterns offered in a Buy-Now, Wear-Now program that drops new models and prints every two months.  An instant hit with style insiders and fashion cognoscenti, the label’s editorial, sales and social media buzz is buoyed by its unique selling events and pop up shops, from Milan’s Salone del Mobile to Italy’s famed Il Pellicano Hotel. Sales in highly-curated, specialized environments is bolstered by top wholesale partners like Matches and TheWebster.

This print was sourced by LaDoubleJ in the Italian archives of Mantero Seta, one of Lake Como’s oldest silk manufacturers. Tulipani was originally designed in the 1920s by Wallach, a French print company in business from 1860 to 1925, specialized in hand-drawn and hand-painted designs.
